Materials

  • Yarn: Aran weight wool blend in cream beige – approx. 350–450g

  • Knitting Needles: 5.0mm (US 8) for body, 4.5mm for ribbing

  • Cable needle

  • Tapestry needle

  • Scissors

  • Measuring tape

Gauge

  • 10cm x 10cm = 20 stitches x 26 rows in stockinette

Finished Size

  • Sizes: S, M, L, XL

  • Bust: 85–115 cm

  • Length: 50–60 cm (adjustable)

Abbreviations

  • K – Knit

  • P – Purl

  • C4B – Cable 4 Back

  • C4F – Cable 4 Front

  • BO – Bind Off

  • CO – Cast On

Instructions

Back Panel

  1. CO 80 (90, 100, 110) sts with smaller needles

  2. Work 6cm of K2, P2 rib

  3. Switch to larger needles

  4. Begin cable chart pattern: alternate 2 cable sections with reverse stockinette background

  5. Work even until piece measures 35cm

  6. Shape armholes: BO 5 sts at each edge, then decrease 1 st every RS row 3 times

  7. Continue until 50–55cm total. BO all sts.

Front Panel

Same as back until neckline shaping

  • When total length is 42cm, BO center 20 sts

  • Work both sides separately, decreasing at neckline edge every RS row 3 times

  • Continue until front matches back

  • BO shoulder stitches

Assembly

  1. Seam shoulders and sides

  2. Pick up stitches around armholes and neckline

  3. Work K1, P1 rib for 4–5 rounds. BO loosely.

Finishing Touches

  • Weave in ends

  • Block gently to open cables
