Crochet Car Trash Bag

Materials

  • 80g worsted weight cotton yarn

  • 4.0 mm crochet hook

  • Yarn needle

  • Button or snap (optional)

  • Scissors

Instructions

Base (Worked Flat or in the Round):

  1. Ch 26

  2. Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook and across (25 sc)

  3. Row 2–10: ch 1, turn, sc across

  4. If working flat: continue around the rectangle with sc to form base edge

Body (Worked in the Round):
5. Rnd 1–25: sc in each stitch around to build up the bag walls
6. Final 2 rounds: hdc or crab stitch for a reinforced rim
7. Fasten off and weave in ends

Strap:

  • Ch 40–50, hdc back across

  • Sew or button to opposite rim sides to hang from gear stick, door hook, or center console

Optional Lining:

  • Add fabric pouch with drawstring or snap-in plastic liner for easy cleaning
