Instructions

  1. Foundation:

    • Ch 51

    • Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc across (50 sts)

    • Row 2: ch 2, dc in next st, sk 1, dc in skipped st (cross stitch) repeat to end

    • Row 3: ch 1, sc in each stitch across (50 sts)

    • Repeat Rows 2–3 until piece measures approx. 12 inches (30 cm)

  2. Border:

    • Round 1: sc evenly around all 4 edges, placing 3 sc in each corner

    • Round 2 (optional): Reverse sc (crab stitch) around for a clean finish

  3. Finishing:

    • Fasten off and weave in ends

    • Block gently to flatten and shape
