Instructions

Foundation:
- Ch 51
- Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc across (50 sts)
- Row 2: ch 2, dc in next st, sk 1, dc in skipped st (cross stitch) repeat to end
- Row 3: ch 1, sc in each stitch across (50 sts)
- Repeat Rows 2–3 until piece measures approx. 12 inches (30 cm)
Border:
- Round 1: sc evenly around all 4 edges, placing 3 sc in each corner
- Round 2 (optional): Reverse sc (crab stitch) around for a clean finish
Finishing:
- Fasten off and weave in ends
- Block gently to flatten and shape
