Knitted Hexagon Coaster

Materials
– Worsted weight cotton yarn (approx. 20g)
– 4 mm double-pointed needles or circular needles
– Stitch marker
– Tapestry needle
– Scissors

Instructions

Cast On: Using the magic loop or DPNs, CO 6 stitches.
Round 1: K1, YO around — 12 sts.
Round 2: Knit all sts.
Round 3: (K1, YO, K1) into each YO from Round 1 — 18 sts.
Continue Rounds:
- Increase 6 sts evenly every other round by placing YOs before and after center stitches of each wedge.
Repeat until the hexagon has 48–54 sts total, or desired size (approx. 10–12 cm across).
Final Round: Knit all stitches, then bind off loosely.
Finishing: Weave in ends and block to sharpen corners.
