
Minimalist Crochet Plant Hanger (For Small Pots)
This beginner-friendly plant hanger is worked in basic crochet stitches and fits small pots (8–12 cm). It’s quick to make and adds a modern handmade touch to any space — perfect for succulents or herbs!
Materials
– Cotton cord or sturdy cotton yarn (approx. 30–40g)
– 4.5 mm crochet hook
– Metal or wooden ring (optional, for hanging)
– Scissors
– Tape measure
Instructions

Base Circle:

Make a magic ring.

Round 1: Ch 2 (counts as dc), 11 dc into ring. Join with sl st. (12 sts)

Round 2: Ch 2, 2 dc in each st around. Join. (24 sts)

Round 3: Ch 2, dc in next, 2 dc in next repeat around. Join. (36 sts)

This forms the bottom of the pot holder.

Ch 4 (counts as dc + ch 1), skip 1 st, dc in next — repeat dc, ch 1, skip 1 around. Join.

Repeat mesh round for 6–8 rounds or until desired height.

Handles / Hanger Straps:

After last mesh round, ch 50 (first strap), sl st back into same st.

Repeat: ch 50 more from two opposite points on the rim (total 3 straps).

Join all 3 straps at top into ring or knot together firmly.
