Materials
– Cotton cord or sturdy cotton yarn (approx. 30–40g)
– 4.5 mm crochet hook
– Metal or wooden ring (optional, for hanging)
– Scissors
– Tape measure

Instructions

  1. Base Circle:

    • Make a magic ring.

    • Round 1: Ch 2 (counts as dc), 11 dc into ring. Join with sl st. (12 sts)

    • Round 2: Ch 2, 2 dc in each st around. Join. (24 sts)

    • Round 3: Ch 2, dc in next, 2 dc in next repeat around. Join. (36 sts)

    • This forms the bottom of the pot holder.

    • Ch 4 (counts as dc + ch 1), skip 1 st, dc in next — repeat dc, ch 1, skip 1 around. Join.

    • Repeat mesh round for 6–8 rounds or until desired height.

  3. Handles / Hanger Straps:

    • After last mesh round, ch 50 (first strap), sl st back into same st.

    • Repeat: ch 50 more from two opposite points on the rim (total 3 straps).

    • Join all 3 straps at top into ring or knot together firmly.

  4. Finishing:

    • Weave in ends securely. Test with your pot inside before hanging.

How To

  1. Weight Support Tip:
Use strong yarn — mercerized cotton or macrame cord recommended.

  2. Make It Bigger:
Add extra rounds to the base and height. Straps can be longer too.

  3. Ring Optional:
Attach all strap ends through a metal/wooden ring for easy ceiling hanging.

  4. Color Ideas:
Neutrals for minimal décor, or bright cotton for boho vibes.

  5. Plant Safety:
Always use secure hooks and test hanging strength before inserting ceramic pots.
