Materials
– Worsted weight yarn (approx. 100g, washable wool/acrylic blend)
– 5 mm knitting needles
– Tapestry needle
– Scissors
– Measuring tape

Instructions

This sweater is worked flat from back to chest, then folded and seamed under the belly and around leg openings.

Measurements First:
- Neck circumference: ~28 cm
- Chest (widest part): ~42 cm
- Back length: ~30 cm
- Adjust stitch count based on your dog’s measurements.
Cast On:
- Cast on 52 stitches using a stretchy method.
Neck Ribbing:
- Work K2, P2 ribbing for 10 rows.
- This forms a snug turtleneck-style collar.
Body:
- Switch to stockinette stitch (knit 1 row, purl 1 row).
- Work even for 20 cm (about 40 rows), ending on a WS row.
Leg Openings (worked in sections):
- Knit 10 stitches, bind off 10, knit 12 (center), bind off 10, knit 10.
- Work each side separately for 4 rows to shape leg openings.
- Then rejoin all stitches and continue in stockinette for another 6 cm.
Bottom Ribbing:
- Switch to K2, P2 ribbing for 6 rows.
- Bind off loosely.
Finishing:
- Fold lengthwise and seam under belly and along chest.
- Leave leg holes open. Weave in ends securely.
