Materials:

Worsted weight yarn in various colors (approximately 100g total):

Gray for the cat
Pink for the pig
Yellow for the duck
Brown for the dog
Blue for the base of the basket
Contrasting colors for stripes and details

4mm crochet hook
Fiberfill stuffing
Safety eyes (6mm)
Scissors
Needle for weaving ends

Gauge:

12 double crochet (dc) stitches and 7 rows equal 4 inches in width. To check gauge, crochet a swatch of 10 dc stitches and measure. Adjust your hook size if needed to meet gauge.

dc: double crochet
sl st: slip stitch

Instructions:

Animal 1: Amigurumi Cat

Body: Start with gray yarn. Ch 2, 6 sc in first ch. (6)
Round 2: Inc in each stitch around. (12)
Round 3: *Sc in 1, inc* repeat around. (18)
Rounds 4-8: Sc in each stitch (18) for 5 rounds.
Round 9: *Sc in 1, dec* repeat around. (12)
Stuff the body with fiberfill.
Round 10: Dec around (6), then sl st to finish. Leave a long tail for sewing.

Head: Repeat similar steps, starting with a magic ring:

Round 1: Ch 2, 6 sc in first ch. (6)
Round 2: Inc in each stitch. (12)
Round 3: *Sc in 1, inc* (18)
Rounds 4-6: Sc in each (18)
Round 7: *Sc in 1, dec* (12)
Stuff, then dec and sl st as before.
Sew the head to the body.

Attach safety eyes and embroider a nose and mouth.

Repeat similar steps for the other animals, using different colored yarns.

Basket:

With blue yarn, start a magic ring and ch 2.
Round 1: 10 dc in the ring. (10)
Round 2: Inc in each stitch. (20)
Rounds 3-5: Sc in each stitch around (20).
Row 6: Ch 1, turn. sc in each across. (20)
Row 7: Ch 2, dc. *Sc in each back (20).
Finish off with sl st, leaving a long tail.

Finishing:
