Crocheted Flower Pot

Materials:

Medium weight cotton yarn in yellow, brown, green, and cream (approx. 50g each)
Size G (4.0 mm) crochet hook
Fiberfill stuffing (for the flower)

Gauge: 12 stitches and 13 rows = 4 inches in double crochet. To measure gauge, crochet a small swatch of double crochet, measuring across the center to ensure it matches the gauge above.

Instructions:

Flower: Start with yellow yarn.
R1: Make a magic ring, ch 2 (counts as first dc), then make 11 dc into the ring (12 dc). Pull the ring tight to close.
R2: 2 dc in each dc around (24 dc). Join with a slip stitch to the top of the starting ch 2.
R3: *dc in next st, 2 dc in next st* repeat around (36 dc). Join.
R4: *dc in next 2 sts, 2 dc in next st* repeat around (48 dc). Join.
R5: Ch 2, dc in each st around. Join and fasten off, leaving a long tail.
Weave the tail through the top of the flower and pull to gather slightly.
Stuff the flower with fiberfill as desired and secure the gathered center by stitching the tail down inside.

Center of Flower: With brown yarn, make a magic ring and ch 1.
R1: 6 sc in ring. Join with a slip stitch.
Fasten off and sew the center onto the flower, carefully stitching around the gathered center.
