Gauge:

Abbreviations:
- CO: Cast On
- K: Knit
- P: Purl
- St(s): Stitch(es)
- BO: Bind Off
Instructions:
Row 1-4: CO 30 stitches using the grey yarn. Knit every row (this creates a garter stitch border).
Row 5: Switch to rust yarn, knit 2, purl 1 across the row.
Row 6: Continue with rust yarn, knit 1, purl 2 across the row.
Row 7-8: Repeat Rows 5 and 6 for a total of 4 rows in stripe pattern.
Row 9-10: Switch to teal yarn, repeat Rows 5 and 6 (total of 4 rows in teal stripe).
Row 11-12: Switch to mustard yarn and repeat Rows 5 and 6, total of 4 rows in mustard stripe.
Row 13: Back to grey yarn, knit all stitches for 2 rows (this completes the garter stitch border).
Repeat the sequence from Row 5 until the scarf measures approximately 60 inches in length or your desired length. This should take about 20 stripes. Lastly, knit a garter stitch edge with grey yarn for the last 4 rows.
Finishing:
Once your scarf reaches the desired length, BO all stitches loosely with grey yarn. Cut the yarn, leaving a 6-inch tail. Use a tapestry needle to weave in all loose ends, securing them properly to prevent them from unraveling. Optional: lightly block your scarf by wetting it and laying it flat to dry, which helps even out stitches and improve the overall appearance.
Optional Variations:
Experiment with different color combinations or add fringes at the ends for a fun touch! Your stripes can also be varied in thickness by changing the number of rows in each color.
