Instructions:
Blanket Size: The finished size of the blanket will be approximately 40 inches by 60 inches.
1. Cast On: Using the white yarn, cast on 120 stitches for a larger blanket or adjust the number to your desired width.
2. Row 1 (RS): K2, *P2, K2; repeat from * to end.
3. Row 2 (WS): K2, *P2, K2; repeat from * to end.
4. Repeat Rows 1 and 2 until the piece measures about 10 inches from the cast-on edge.
5. Change to Coral Yarn: Switch to the coral yarn. Continue in the same stitch pattern (K2, P2) for another 10 inches.
6. Change to Orange Yarn: Switch to the orange yarn and repeat the pattern for another 10 inches.
7. Alternate Colors: Continue alternating between white, coral, and orange yarns for a total of 60 inches or your preferred length. Aim for a nice blend, ensuring to keep the stitch pattern consistent throughout.
8. Bind Off: When you reach your desired length, bind off all stitches in pattern (K2, P2) to maintain the edge stability.
9. Finishing: Weave in all loose ends with a tapestry needle. It is essential to weave in ends to keep your blanket neat and durable.
10. Blocking: To give your blanket a polished finish, gently wash it and lay it flat to dry, shaping it to the desired dimensions. This helps even out stitches and gives a professional look.
Optional Variations:
- Experiment with different color combinations or yarn textures.
- Add a crochet edge for a decorative finish.
Enjoy the process and happy crafting!
