
Two-Tone Knit Coasters
These stylish two-tone knit coasters are perfect for adding a pop of color to your table. Worked flat with basic color changes, they’re a fun way to practice carrying yarn and combining hues.
Materials
– Worsted weight cotton yarn in two contrasting colors (approx. 15g each)
– 4 mm knitting needles
– Tapestry needle
– Scissors
Instructions

With Color A, cast on 24 stitches.

Knit 4 rows in garter stitch (all knit) for a border.

Switch to stockinette stripe pattern:

Row 1 (RS): Knit across with Color A

Row 2 (WS): Purl across with Color A

Row 3 (RS): Knit across with Color B

Row 4 (WS): Purl across with Color B

Repeat Rows 1–4 to create alternating stripes

Work stripe pattern until piece measures approx. 10 cm.

Switch to Color A and knit 4 rows for top border.
