Adorable Amigurumi Penguin, Bear, and Pig

Materials:

Worsted weight yarn in the following colors:
- Black (for the penguin)
- White (for the penguin)
- Brown (for the bear)
- Yellow (for the bear's scarf and buttons)
- Light beige (for the bear's face)
- Blue (for the bear's shirt and the pig's pants)
- Pink (for the pig's face and ears)
3.5 mm crochet hook
Black safety eyes (9 mm) or black embroidery thread
Fiberfill stuffing
Stitch marker
Tapestry needle

Gauge:

The gauge is not crucial for this project, but aim for 5 stitches per inch in single crochet for a tight fabric. To check your gauge, crochet a 4” square and measure the number of stitches in 4 inches.

Abbreviations:

inc = increase (2 sc in the same stitch)

Amigurumi Penguin:

1. Body: Start with black yarn.
Magic circle, 6 sc into the circle. (6)
Increase in each stitch around. (12)
(Sc 1, inc) around. (18)
(Sc 2, inc) around. (24)
Sc in each stitch for 5 rounds.
Change to white yarn. Sc in each stitch for 2 rounds.
Finish off and leave a long tail for sewing.

2. Face: Attach black safety eyes between Rows 8 and 9. Embroider a small orange beak to complete the face.

Amigurumi Bear:

1. Body: Start with brown yarn.
Magic circle, 6 sc into the circle. (6)
Increase in each stitch around. (12)
(Sc 1, inc) around. (18)
(Sc 2, inc) around. (24)
Sc in each stitch for 6 rounds.
Change to light beige yarn. Sc in each stitch for 3 rounds. Fo and leave tail for sewing.

2. Face & Accessories: Attach eyes between Rows 6 and 7. Create a scarf with yellow, ch 40, and sl st in each stitch back. Attach at the bear’s neck. For the overalls, use brown yarn to create a rectangle that fits around the bear's body, securing with a few stitches. Add buttons.

Amigurumi Pig:

1. Body: Start with pink yarn.
Magic circle, 6 sc into the circle. (6)
Increase in each stitch around. (12)
(Sc 1, inc) around. (18)
(Sc 1, inc, sc 2) around. (24)
Continue in sc for 5 rounds, then switch to blue for pants.
For pants, create a rectangle piece that covers the bottom half of the pig, attaching at the waist.

2. Face: Attach eyes between Rows 6 and 7. Create ears by chaining 10, then making small increases before finishing off.

Finishing Touches:
