Crochet Bikini Top and Skirt Set

Materials:

1 skein of worsted weight cotton yarn (pink)
Size H (5.0 mm) crochet hook
Stitch markers
Scissors
Tapestry needle for weaving ends

Gauge:

To gauge, crochet a 4" x 4" square using double crochet stitches. Your square should measure 18 stitches wide and 10 rows tall. If it’s larger, try a smaller hook; if it’s smaller, try a larger hook.

Instructions:

Bikini Top

Step 1: Start by making a slip knot. Chain 30.

Step 2: Row 1: In the 4th chain from the hook, do 1 dc. Continue to dc across to the end of the row. (28 dc)

Step 3: Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), turn work. Dc in each st across. (28 dc)

Step 4: Repeat Row 2 for a total of 8 rows. This will form the base of the cup.

Step 5: Once you have your 8 rows, chain 10 and make a sl st into the top of the last dc to create a strap. Fasten off.

Step 6: Repeat Steps 1-5 for the second cup.

Step 7: Using the remaining yarn, crochet a long chain of about 50 chains to connect both cups. Attach to the center of each cup, ensuring they sit comfortably on the body. You may also add additional chains for a tie around the neck.

Skirt

Step 1: Start with a slip knot and chain 60. This will form the waistband.

Step 2: Row 1: Sc in the 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across (59 sc).

Step 3: Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), turn work. Dc in each sc across (59 dc).

Step 4: Continue alternating between rows of sc and dc until you have a total of 12 rows. This will give a nice flow to the skirt.

Step 5: Once completed, make a waistband by folding over the top edge and sc around it to create a channel for elastic.

Step 6: Insert a strip of elastic into the waistband for a secure fit. Sew the two ends of the elastic together.
