100% cotton yarn (approx. 100g for larger basket, 50g for smaller basket)
Crochet hook size 4.0 mm (G hook)
Scissors

Gauge:

14 stitches and 16 rows = 10 cm (4 inches) in single crochet.

To check your gauge, crochet a square of 10 cm x 10 cm using single crochet stitches. If your swatch is larger, try a smaller hook; if it’s smaller, try a larger hook.

For the Larger Basket:

Start with a magic ring.
Round 1: Work 6 sc into the magic ring. Pull the ring tight to close. (6 sts)
Round 2: Inc in each st around. (12 sts)
Round 3: *Sc in the next st, inc in the next st* repeat around. (18 sts)
Round 4: *Sc in the next 2 sts, inc in the next st* repeat around. (24 sts)
Round 5: *Sc in the next 3 sts, inc in the next st* repeat around. (30 sts)
Round 6-10: Sc in each st around. (30 sts)
Round 11: *Sc in the next 3 sts, dec* repeat around. (24 sts)
Round 12: *Sc in the next 2 sts, dec* repeat around. (18 sts)
Round 13: *Sc in the next st, dec* repeat around. (12 sts)
Round 14: Dec around until 6 sts remain. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
