Crochet Flower Bag and Mini Pouch

Materials:

Worsted weight yarn (size 4): 200 grams in beige and 50 grams in brown
Crochet hook size H/8 (5.0 mm)
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends

Gauge:

Using worsted weight yarn with an H/8 hook, you should get about 14 stitches and 16 rows in a 4" square using single crochet. Always check your gauge to ensure the right size!

sc = single crochet
sl st = slip stitch
inc = increase (2 sc in the same stitch)

Instructions:

For the Bag:

Chain 32 to start the base of your bag.
Row 1: Starting in the second chain from the hook, work 31 sc. (31 stitches)
Row 2: Ch 1, turn. Work 31 sc across. (31 stitches)
Repeat Row 2 until your piece measures 10" high. You should have approximately 30 rows.
Now fold the piece in half and slip stitch the sides together to form the bag shape.
For the strap, chain 4. In the second chain from the hook, sc across for 60" length, then fasten off.
Attach the strap to the sides of the bag using sl st to secure.
To finish the bag, with the brown yarn, make a decorative scalloped edge: *ch 5, sl st in the 2nd chain from the hook, sc in the next chain, sl st in the last chain; repeat from * around the top edge.

For the Mini Pouch:

Chain 20 to start the base.
Row 1: Starting in the second chain from the hook, work 19 sc. (19 stitches)
Row 2: Ch 1, turn. Work 19 sc across. (19 stitches)
Repeat Row 2 until your piece measures 6" high (about 12 rows).
Fold and slip stitch the sides together like the bag.
For a closure, chain 8 and sl st to create a small loop; attach this to the top middle of the pouch.
Use yellow yarn to make small flower shapes across the front and embroider using the tapestry needle.
