Materials

  • 40g DK or worsted cotton yarn

  • 3.5 mm crochet hook

  • Yarn needle

  • Scissors

  • Standard glass jar (e.g. 10–12 cm tall, ~26–30 sts circumference)

Instructions

  1. Base (Optional):

    • If you want a full bottom cover, start with a magic ring

    • Rnd 1: 6 sc in ring

    • Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st (12)

    • Rnd 3: 1 sc, 2 sc in next around (18)

    • Rnd 4: 2 sc, 2 sc in next around (24) — stop when your base fits jar diameter

  2. Main Sleeve (Body):

    • Rnd 1: sc around in back loops only to form vertical edge

    • Rnd 2–12: ch 1, skip 1 st, sc in next around for a mesh look

    • Rnd 13–14: sc in each st for a clean top edge
