Instructions:
1. Start with the Base:
- Make a magic ring.

- Round 2: Ch 3, 1 DC in same st; 2 DC in each st around. Join with sl st. (24 DC)
- Round 3: Ch 3, *1 DC in next st, 2 DC in next st; repeat from * around. Join. (36 DC)
- Round 4: Ch 3, *1 DC in next 2 st, 2 DC in next st; repeat from * around. Join. (48 DC)
- Continue increasing as above, adding one additional DC between increases until you reach your desired diameter (approximately 18-20 inches around).
2. Work the Body:
- Once you reach your desired diameter, work even (no increases) in DC for about 6-8 rounds or until you reach the height you prefer (about 10-12 inches total height).
3. Start the Lace Edging:
- Round 1: Ch 3, *DC in next st, ch 1, sk 1; repeat from * around. Join with sl st.
- Round 2: Ch 3, *DC in ch-1 space, ch 1; repeat from * around. Join with sl st.
- Round 3: Follow similar pattern, switching to a lace stitch of your choice until you have about 4-6 rounds of lace edging.
4. Finishing:
- Once you’re finished, fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.
- Use the tapestry needle to weave in ends carefully.
- Block if desired to enhance the lace pattern.
Optional Variation:
Add pompoms or fringe along the bottom edge for a playful touch!
