Abbreviations:
- ch = chain
- dc = double crochet
- sl st = slip stitch
- st = stitch
- rnd = round
- sp = space
Instructions:
Creating the Granny Squares:
- Start with the Main Color (Beige):
- Make a slip knot and ch 4.
- Join with a sl st to form a ring.
- Rounds 1-3:
- Rnd 1: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), 2 dc in the ring, ch 2, *(3 dc, ch 2) in the ring; repeat from * two more times. Join with a sl st to the top of beginning ch 3. (4 groups of 3 dc)
- Rnd 2: Sl st into the first ch-2 sp. Ch 3 (counts as first dc), 2 dc in same sp, ch 2, *(3 dc, ch 2) in next ch-2 sp; repeat from * three more times. Join with a sl st to top of beginning ch 3. (8 groups of 3 dc)
- Rnd 3: Sl st into the first ch-2 sp. Ch 3 (counts as first dc), 2 dc in same sp, ch 2, *(3 dc, ch 2) in next ch-2 sp; repeat from * seven more times. Join with sl st to top of beginning ch 3. (12 groups of 3 dc)
- Change to Dark Blue:
- Rnd 4: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), 2 dc in same sp, ch 2, *(3 dc in next ch-2 sp, ch 2); repeat from * around. Join with sl st to the top of beginning ch 3. (12 groups of 3 dc)
- Change to Burgundy:
- Repeat Rnd 4 in the Burgundy color for additional squares.
Assembling the Blanket:
- Once you have made enough squares (recommend around 20), lay them out in your desired arrangement.
- Using the yarn needle, sew squares together using a slip stitch or whip stitch, aligning edges.
Finishing:
Weave in all loose ends with the yarn needle. To give your blanket a polished look, consider blocking it by lightly spraying it with water and laying it flat to dry.
Optional Variations:
- Experiment with different color combinations for a unique vibe.
- Add a scalloped border around the finished blanket for an extra touch of elegance.
