Gauge:
To achieve the desired size, make a small swatch of 10 double crochets (dc) wide and 10 rows high. Measure: 10 cm x 10 cm (4" x 4"). Adjust your hook size if necessary to meet this gauge. It's important for your motifs to be uniform in size.

Instructions:

Heart Motif

Round 1: Using the Yellow yarn, make a magic ring. Inside the ring, ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), then make 2 dc, ch 2, and 3 dc. This forms one side of the heart. Now, on the other side, make 3 dc, ch 2, and 2 dc. Pull the tail to close the magic ring and join with a sl st to the top of the ch 3.

Round 2: Change to White yarn. Ch 1, work 1 sc in the same st, then 2 sc in each dc around (12 sc total). Join with sl st.

Round 3: Switch to Turquoise yarn, ch 1, and make 1 sc in each sc around (12 sc total). Join with sl st and finish off the yarn.

Smiley Face Motif

Round 1: Using Turquoise yarn, make a magic ring, ch 3, and work 11 dc into the ring (12 dc total). Pull to tighten and join with sl st.

Round 2: Ch 1, work 1 sc in each dc around (12 sc total). Change to White yarn, ch 1, then work 1 sc in each sc around (12 sc total). Join with sl st and attach a smiley button in the center if desired.

Circle Motif

Round 1: Using Turquoise yarn, make a magic ring, ch 1, and work 10 sc into the ring (10 sc total). Pull to tighten and join with sl st.

Finishing:
