Lacy Crochet Throw for a Cozy Corner

Materials:

Yarn: Worsted weight (4) yarn, approximately 800 yards. Use a soft acrylic or cotton blend for comfort.

sp = space

Instructions:

Row 1: Start with a slip knot. Chain 93.

Row 2: In the 4th chain from the hook, make 1 dc. Then make 1 dc in each of the next 3 chains. *In the next chain, make 3 dc, skip the next 2 chains, and make 1 dc in the next 5 chains.* Repeat from * to * until the end of the chain. You should end with 1 dc in the last chain. Turn your work.

Row 3: Chain 3 (this counts as your first dc). In the first ch sp, make 1 dc. Then make 1 dc in each of the next 4 dc. *In the sp between the 3 dc clusters, make 3 dc, sk the 5 dc, and make 1 dc in the next 5 dc.* Repeat from * to * until the end of the row, finishing with 1 dc in the top of the turning chain. Turn your work.

Rows 4 - 20: Repeat Row 3 until your throw measures approximately 36 inches long or until you have completed about 20 rows total.

Border: To finish, chain 1 and work 1 sc in each dc and 3 sc in each sp along the edge. At the corners, make sure to add 3 sc to maintain the shape. Sl st to join and fasten off.

Finishing: Weave in all ends using a tapestry needle. For a polished look, block your throw by wetting it and laying it flat to dry. This will help the stitches to open up nicely and give a beautiful finish.
