This lightweight and flexible water bottle holder is ideal for walks, hikes, or festivals. Knit in the round with a mesh body, it stretches to fit most bottle sizes and includes a knit strap for carrying over the shoulder.

Materials
– Worsted weight cotton yarn (approx. 70g)
– 4 mm double-pointed or circular needles
– Tapestry needle
– Stitch marker
– Scissors

Instructions

Base:

Cast On:
- CO 8 sts, divide onto DPNs or Magic Loop. Join in the round.
Round 1: Kfb in each stitch. (16 sts)
Round 2: Knit
Round 3: K1, kfb around (24 sts)
Continue increasing evenly every other round until you reach 40 sts (approx. 10–12 cm circle)

Mesh Body:

Round 1: YO, K2tog — repeat around.
Repeat mesh round for approx. 18–20 cm (fits 500–750ml bottles)

Top Edging:

Final Rounds:
- Round 1: Knit
- Round 2: K2, P2 ribbing for 3 rounds
- Bind off loosely in pattern

Strap:

Make Strap:
- With same yarn, pick up 6 sts from top edge
- Work in garter stitch (knit every row) until approx. 80 cm
- Sew to opposite edge securely

Finishing:
– Weave in ends tightly
– Lightly block strap if curling

Holds shape and absorbs less moisture than wool or blends.
