Materials:

Gauge:
With the brown yarn, 4 rows of double crochet (dc) should measure approximately 4 inches in height. To measure:
- Make a swatch of 10 dc across and 10 rows high.
- Measure the height and width in inches to compare.
Abbreviations:
- ch - chain
- dc - double crochet
- sl st - slip stitch
Instructions:
Start with the brown yarn.
- Foundation Row: Ch 4. Join with sl st to form a ring.
- Row 1: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), make 2 dc in ring. Ch 2, make 3 dc in the ring (this forms the first corner). Ch 2, make 3 dc in the ring. Ch 1, sl st to top of starting ch-3.

Repeat Row 2 until your shawl reaches about 42 inches from tip to the longest edge.
- Change to beige yarn and repeat the same stitch pattern, but only for 6 rows.
Finishing:
Weave in all ends using a tapestry needle. To block your shawl, gently wash it and lay it flat on a towel, shaping it as desired. Pin the edges if needed to achieve a smooth finish.
