Materials
– DK weight yarn, 50g (cotton or cotton blend recommended)
– 4 mm knitting needles
– Tapestry needle for weaving in ends

Instructions

Cast On: 40 stitches using the long-tail cast on method.
Knit First Row (RS): Knit all stitches.
Second Row (WS): Purl all stitches.
Repeat: Continue alternating 1 row knit, 1 row purl (stockinette stitch) until the fabric is a perfect square — approx. 40–42 rows.
Bind Off: Loosely bind off in knit on a right side row.
Finishing: Weave in yarn tails. Gently block the piece to smooth curling edges and sharpen corners.
