Body:
- Using light yellow yarn, make a magic ring.
- Round 1: 6 sc in magic ring (6)
- Round 2: Inc in each stitch around (12)

- Change back to light yellow yarn.
- Round 15: *4 sc, inc* repeat around (36)
- Round 16-20: Sc in each stitch around (36) (5 rounds)
- Change to gray yarn.
- Round 21: *5 sc, inc* repeat around (42)
- Round 22-25: Sc in each stitch around (42) (4 rounds)
- Begin decreasing rounds for shaping the top of the cat.
- Round 26: *5 sc, dec* repeat around (36)
- Round 27: *4 sc, dec* repeat around (30)
- Round 28: *3 sc, dec* repeat around (24)
- Round 29: *2 sc, dec* repeat around (18)
- Stuff the body firmly with stuffing at this point.
- Round 30: *1 sc, dec* repeat around (12)
- Round 31: Dec around to close opening (6).
- Finish off and leave a long tail for sewing.
Head:
- Follow the same steps as for the body up to round 10 with light yellow yarn, but then do not switch to gray yarn.
- Rounds 11-20: Sc in each stitch around (24) (10 rounds).
- Start decreasing rounds.
- Round 21: *5 sc, dec* repeat around (30)
- Round 22: *2 sc, dec* repeat around (18)
- Stuff the head and continue decreasing until closed (6), finish off.
Ears (make 2):
- Using yellow yarn, ch 5.
- Row 1: Sc in second ch from hook and the next 2 ch, 3 sc in last ch. Turn to work on the other side of the chain, sc in each of the 3 stitches (8).
- Row 2: Ch 1, dec, 4 sc, dec (6).
- Row 3: Ch 1, dec, 2 sc, dec (4), finish off.
Assembly:
- Sew the head onto the body, positioning it slightly forward.
- Sew the ears onto the top of the head.
- Attach safety eyes and sew a small pink nose.
- If desired, sew on small flower embellishments or stitch a mouth with contrasting yarn.
Finishing:
