Instructions:

Body of the Top:

Start by making a slip knot and chain 48. This will be the foundation chain for your crop top.
Row 1: Dc in the 4th ch from the hook and in each chain across. You should have 46 dc. Turn your work.
Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc here and throughout), dc in each st across. Turn. (46 dc)
Repeat Row 2 until the piece measures approximately 10 inches from the starting chain.
Once you've reached the length, fold the piece in half to find the center. Mark it with a stitch marker for reference.

Armholes:

To create the armholes, chain 6 and skip the first 16 stitches on each side. This will leave 14 dc in the center.
Continue crocheting dc in the remaining center stitches for the next 6 rows. You should have 14 dc across for these rows.

Back Closure:

After completing the 6 rows for the armholes, you will create a back closure. Ch 6, turn, and work dc back across the 6 chains.
Row 1: Dc across the remaining stitches, and then bind off.
